Focus and Scope

Aim: The primary aim of DERROTERO is to publish and disseminate articles in the fields of Maritime and Naval Sciences, as well as International Maritime Management and Policy, thereby contributing to the creation, development, and dissemination of knowledge related to maritime and naval affairs. According to the OECD classification of fields of knowledge, the journal is oriented toward the Social Sciences, particularly in areas associated with management, public policy, international relations, and maritime studies.

Scope: The journal is intended for academics, researchers, professionals, and individuals interested in maritime and naval matters, with both national and international coverage. It publishes research articles, review articles, case studies, and academic reflection articles on a biannual basis, promoting the dissemination of specialized knowledge within its thematic areas.

Focus: The journal adopts an academic and scientific approach focused on the analysis of the social, political, institutional, economic, and strategic dynamics associated with the maritime domain. It promotes the production of knowledge from a social sciences perspective, as well as dialogue and the exchange of experiences among members of the academic, research, and professional communities interested in maritime affairs and their implications at both the national and international levels.
