Editorial Management

OnBoard Knowledge Journal presents to the scientific community the editorial process, defined as the workflow of decision making, the actors involved and the average time it takes for the process: submission, reception, evaluation and publication of each of the articles submitted to the journal.

The step-by-step process is presented below:

Editorial management consists of the following stages:

1. Article Submission: Articles must be submitted by authors in an editable Word format through the OJS (Open Journal Systems). In addition to the article, it is necessary to attach a resume and a document for the transfer of property rights. The receipt of the article and the acknowledgment of receipt are automatically performed once the manuscript is submitted.

2. Preliminary Evaluation: Within a maximum of 30 days after receiving the article, the editors will review the manuscripts to determine if they fit the scope and evaluation criteria of the journal, which are detailed in the checklist. Both the structure and the content of the article will be analyzed, verifying that it meets the bibliographic and style requirements according to the American Psychological Association (APA) standards, available in the APA Publication Manual. If the manuscript does not meet the editorial criteria, the main author will be notified. Otherwise, reviewers will be assigned and, if necessary, the author will have 15 days to make adjustments.

3. Peer Review: After the preliminary evaluation, the article undergoes an anonymous review process by at least two expert reviewers on the subject. This process can take between 4 and 20 weeks. Reviewers will assess the originality, relevance, and methodological rigor of the article, which can result in one of four possible decisions. Following the review, a certificate of evaluation will be granted by OnBoard Knowledge Journal.

4. Editorial Review: Once the authors submit the corrected manuscript, the editorial team will review that the suggested corrections have been made. Subsequently, the article will undergo the process of style correction, translation, layout, and publication.
