Drug trafficking in Chile has become an illegal activity throughout history, not only in Chile but in many countries, becoming a multinational problem. The present investigation seeks to determine some theories about why Chile is coveted by Transnational Criminal Organizations (OCT) in this case, the most recent boom in Synthetic Drugs, especially Methamphetamines, through the different routes used. The phenomenon is attributed to Chile’s strategic geographic location, well-established trade routes, and the growing demand for these substances in the country. In recent years, there has been a change in the dynamics of drug trafficking, with a growing flow of synthetic drugs coming from Europe, mainly MDMA manufactured in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is postulated that criminal organizations could be exchanging hydrochlorinated cocaine for ecstasy pills as currency, taking advantage of the accessibility of cocaine in South America and the cheap production of ecstasy in Europe. This analysis suggests the need for more effective policies and intervention strategies, including strengthened international cooperation, advanced detection measures, educational programs, and legislative reforms.
