Analysis of historical colombian naval operations: study of the case of the Battle of the Bishops in the War of a Thousand Days

The present study was oriented to the historical and documentary analysis of the naval battle of Los Obispos during the Thousand Days War, through the documentary study of the types of operation, means used, comparison of naval power, in order to determine the strategy and principles of war that were applied and thus formulate a proposal for an OVA on the subject studied.
In order to achieve the objective design, the study was oriented from the qualitative research, of analytical type, based on secondary information sources through documentary analysis, to subsequently make a proposal for the development of an OVA that allows addressing the knowledge derived from this study.
The results show the description of the importance of the Magdalena River in the context of the naval battle of Los Obispos fought in the Thousand Days War; likewise, the strategy and principles of war that were applied in the naval battle of the Bishops in the Magdalena River were established; also, the types of operation and means used by the parties involved in the naval battle of the Bishops in the Magdalena River were identified.
