This editorial presents the latest volume of OnBoard Knowledge Journal, highlighting the central role of engineering and technology in strengthening naval education, operational capabilities, and national development. The contributions address key areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, defense-oriented engineering, cybersecurity, and educational innovation, reflecting a strong alignment between academic research and the strategic needs of Colombia’s naval sector. Collectively, the studies emphasize the importance of scientific rigor, technological autonomy, and ethical formation in preparing future naval officers to meet the complex challenges of modern maritime and riverine environments.
