This editorial presents the second stage of OnBoard Knowledge Journal, focused on consolidating its academic, administrative, and scientific identity as an institutional journal of the Escuela Naval de Cadetes “Almirante Padilla”. The text highlights the definition of the journal’s name, its connection with naval and maritime experience, and its purpose of producing, organizing, evaluating, and disseminating relevant knowledge for the academic, scientific, and institutional community. It also emphasizes the selection of engineering and technology as the journal’s broad area of knowledge, in alignment with institutional capabilities, editorial trends, and the strategic needs of contemporary naval education. Collectively, the editorial frames the consolidation of an editorial structure grounded in rigor, transparency, scientific ethics, open access, and peer review, while inviting national and international authors and reviewers to participate in a project dedicated to the generation, circulation, and appropriation of naval, maritime, technological, and strategic knowledge.
